PostgreSQL
Each project gets its own PostgreSQL-compatible database when its app first uses one.
Studio writes the code. Check the result in the preview and ask for changes. When the app is ready, deploy it to runlot.

Build a cafe order screen. I'd like to store the menu in the database.
View the code and preview in the same workspace. The preview runs in your browser on the web, or on your own computer in the desktop app.
Enter what you want to build on the home screen. Studio names the app, creates a project, and starts writing code. There is no separate setup form to fill in.
Code changes appear in the preview without reloading the entire page. Review the result and ask for adjustments as you work.
Click Publish to build the app, deploy a preview, and check it before deploying to production. These checks use a separate database branched from production.
Your app deploys as a runlot project. There is no need to connect separate services for the database, login, or file storage.

Send from your app's email address and handle incoming mail in the app.
Changes from each request are committed to the project's Git repository.
Connect your domain. SSL certificates are issued and renewed automatically.
Manage logs, domains, members, and billing in the dashboard, linked from Studio. You can also query the database directly in Studio.
Connect your Claude or ChatGPT account in the desktop app to write code using that subscription.
Work handled by your subscription does not use runlot AI credit. The model picker shows no credit charged, and you can check your subscription's rolling 5-hour and 7-day usage limits.
You can use runlot-provided models without connecting an account. These models use AI credit. Connect a subscription later from the model picker.
Subscription credentials and API keys are stored in the OS keychain and are not sent to runlot's servers.
The app continues running in the background. Launch at login is enabled by default. Choose Quit from the menu to fully close the app.
Keep the desktop app running to use your connected subscription in web Studio. You also choose whether to make it available to your team's deployed apps.
Select My desktop in the model picker at studio.runlot.io. Your connected desktop handles work requested from the browser using your subscription.
Enable this feature for a project to handle its env.ai.run calls on a team member's Studio desktop without charging AI credit. You separately choose whether to switch to credit-funded models when no desktop is available.
Sharing a subscription with apps is off by default. The subscription owner enables it and selects the allowed models. App requests cannot access files on the computer. This feature supports anthropic/* and openai/* models.
Code edits sync between the web and desktop apps. You can work with both open without moving files manually.
Sign in with the same runlot account to access your organizations and projects on both web and desktop.
